FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Of course you have questions about our group, website, and all the elements that go into making Central Coast Singles tick. We want to answer all those questions for you, also. Below are some questions and answers that we hope will clear things up for you. If you have any other questions, contact us from the contact page. You can click on each question to read the answer:

Q. How long has Central Coast Singles existed?

A. I started Central Coast Singles in early 2005. I originally started it as SLO Singles but opted for a more generalized name. Thus, the first Central Coast Singles event was held in June 2005.

Q. How many members are there in Central Coast Singles?

A. I have about 200 members in our database, plus another 120+ in the Yahoo! groups, another 400 single friends on MySpace, and I contact about another 150 singles and 3 singles groups. I contact at least 700 singles each month.

Q. What is the age range of the singles in this group?

A. We have a broad age range in our group. We welcome members from 18 to 99, but more practically we prefer members to be at least 21 for some of the venues we go to. We have members ranging in age from 25 to 75, with the majority being from about 35 to 60.

Q. Is there a good balance of men and women?

A. On our membership roster, there is a good mix of men and women. However, when we have events, there is usually a larger number of women. It is obviously that way in almost all singles groups, especially around here. Some groups choose to limit the number of participants to the total number of men so they get an equal number. I do not exclude anyone from our events based on gender, race, religion, or orientation.

Q. Are there any other singles groups out there?

A. Yes, there are other singles groups. There is one in Santa Maria, which I am not recommending at this time due to certain issues. There is also one in Paso Robles which is more of a Christian singles group, but welcomes all singles. There is also a Catholic group in Nipomo I can refer you to. There is also the Travel Connections Social Club run by Dianne Tuttle. I have ceased referring people to the New Life singles group due to an executive decision they made excluding their members from finding out about us. When that is finalized, I will let you know the decision on referral.

Q. Who owns Central Coast Singles?

A. CCS is not really "owned", it is run by it's members and directors. As director, I put together events and contact people based on their desires. I take input from members as to what they wish to do, and put packages and events together for them. I simply direct which way things go.

Q. How much does it cost to join Central Coast Singles?

A. If you attend events on a monthly basis, there is no charge for Central Coast Singles. I am implementing a payment plan for people who do not wish to attend monthly events. So far the schedule is as follows:

FREE if you attend at least one event each month.

$30 annual fee if you attend at least one event every quarter (every 3 months).

$75 annual fee if you do not attend at least one event every quarter.

I am also implementing a $10 membership charge for new members as of Autust 1. It is a one-time charge to get you acclimated to the group and set up your membership.

Q. Is the Director of Central Coast Singles available to date?

A. The short answer is yes, so far. I am so busy with this group, and the work it involves, that I really do not have time to make much of a social life. I eventually hope to meet the right woman, and perhaps it will happen through this group. In the meantime, I keep myself aloof so people will not think I am trying to date all the women.
