SOLVANG FUDGE RUN AND OSTRICH FEED
We are running down to Solvang for fudge and goodies, play tourist, have lunch, (maybe Chumash) then stop on the way back to feed the ostriches. Then it's back to SM for a fun dinner and Karaoke!
Carpool from Wal-Mart parking lot in Santa Maria at 10 am to meet and carpool if you so choose. (Carpools can be arranged from SLO or North County, also) I am not making an official statement for carpooling because that is up to the individuals, but you can work that out there or in our Yahoo group. I suggest sharing for gas, at about $5+ for 4 people in a car, or split actual cost. Gas is usually low priced in Buellton (Tom's Gas), so you could square up on the way back and get gas before heading back to SM.
We will head down to Buellton and over to Solvang, park for the day, and check out all the bakeries, stores, and galleries. There are some cool stores in Solvang, including an Izod outlet, and some fun stuff to do like visit the mission, galleries, etc. There is also a motorcycle museum down there with some really old bikes, some fun. Cost is $5 for museum
When we are done with Solvang, depending what time we get done, we may just run out to the Chumash Casino for an hour for those who have never been there before. That way, there is no commitment to lose money lol (no assurance we will get there, though)
On the way back, we will stop at Ostrich Land and feed ostriches and emus. Strange looking birds up close and personal
Then we will come back to Santa Maria, and maybe get a quick dinner at Red Robin, with fun food and drinks at reasonable prices. If the other places in the mall are open, there is sushi, Carls Jr, and Sbarro.
Then we are off to karaoke at the Santa Maria Inn for those brave people that still want to stay out for some more fun!
Recommended dress is nice casual, with comfortable walking shoes. Lunch, shopping, and dining is not expensive, so fancy dress not needed. You may be walking outside a bit, so hat and sunscreen are also recommended. Bring a camera. I will have mine for video of the group.
