Who are we? We are a bunch of singles on the Central Coast of California, from Paso Robles to Lompoc. We range in age from 18 to 99. Seriously, we have had people at some events as young as 79, and 25. We will have events for all age groups, and other special interests, as well. For instance, watch for Hip Hop, Swing, Christian, and outdoor events, as well as all the regular stuff. There will be something for everyone. We have about 450 single friends on our MySpace profile, 250 on Tagged, 350 emails, and 50+ on Facebook, and it is still growing!

The absolute BEST way to keep informed is to join our Central Coast Singles Yahoo! Group. This way you will get all communication regarding current events, future events, updates, last minute changes, and can give instant input to tell us what you would like. You can keep in communication with other members of the group. We have polls, pictures, a calendar, and special announcements for events we don't have time to post anywhere else. It's the best thing to do if you are serious about getting out with singles.

You must also indicate your location or have it on your profile before I can approve you. If it is not there, you will be contacted one time. Instructions are sent to you as soon as you apply. The Central Coast Singles have been around since early 2005. June 2, 2005 was the first event we put together. It was a singles mingle, with spaghetti dinner. It turned out good, and seemed to be fun for everyone. Although turnout for events was decent, after a comedy night and dance it seemed the singles community was not ready for something like this. I kept CCS alive online in the Yahoo Group. In December 2007, I found that more singles were ready to get involved and do something.

That is why in the middle of December, 2007, I got it going again. My philosophy is to get as many people together as possible and let them find each other. If you limit the people by any means, you are doing an injustice to them. If someone is a jerk, either they will not be invited any more, or they will stop coming because people will not engage in activities with them. That makes it almost self-policing.

Central Coast Singles was put on hiatus for a few months in late 2008, and brought back strong and active in February 2009. We have been having 60+ singles attending events, and doing lots of fun stuff. I hope you will become part of the excitement.

Once you get certain cliques that like each other, you can do smaller events for them. That would be by age, location, religion, or whatever else they may have in common. I will have events for whatever groups seem to be in larger numbers. Heck, if the Carpenter's Union had enough singles in this group, I might even have a Carpenter's dance! Just let me know what special things you want to see done and what groups you associate with. I'll try to get something special going.

I also encourage people to get their own events going. Want to go to a certain movie? Either post it in the Yahoo group, or give me enough notice to send it out to over 900 singles and see who wants to go. If you are attending an event, we can see how many people want to go with you and make it one heck of an event!

We are also working with the Clubhouse at This Old House to make that our monthly meeting spot. We will be meeting Thursday nights for dinner and mingling, as well as playing billiards and nice times on the patio (weather permitting). This will be promoted on their activity calendar, as well! I am also promoting Central Coast Singles regularly to make this the biggest and most encompassing singles group on the Central Coast. If you have a group, maybe you'll want to combine resources and help all our singles have a great time! If you have a group with events, contact me about promoting your events to our people.
