Our long time goal has been to provide social events and activities, as well as places for singles to meet and socialize without having to resort to bars and clubs. Our ultimate goal is for everyone to find the right person to compliment their life, but not to put pressure on making that happen. It should occur in a pressure free environment, in proper timing.
As this group grows, I will add a match making service for singles to find a life partner. This will be separate from the actual group, and mostly occur online. When active membership tops 500 singles, I will move forward with this plan. Until then, we are simply an activities and social group.
The structure includes directors and members. Directors (including the Executive Director) take input from members and create events and moderate the group. Examples would be directors in charge of outdoor events and hiking, another in charge of game nights and social activities, another in charge of travel, one in charge of entertainment and shows, etc., to divide management. In this way, no one person has too much to do, and the group will continue to function if one director should find a life partner and leave the group.
Directors answer to the Executive Director, who balances everything and approves events that will be presented to the membership. Dues and fees are only necessary for members who do not come to at least one event each month, and a processing/application fee of $10 for new members.
